Introduction

The purpose of this exercise was to perform an inspection, disassembly and reassembly of a pocket watch to gain experience in the handling of the individual pieces and assessing the condition of a pocket watch.

The watch was functional in the following ways:

• Able to set time
• Able to wind
• Watch was running

Functional Report

Values with the face up (0 deg.)

Values with the face in the vertical orientation (90 deg.)

• Rate: Missing in both orientation signifying that the watch is not able to maintain time.
• Amplitude: Low values are noted in the vertical orientation. Close to expected values are noted with the face up.
• Beat Error: Higher errors are noted in the face up orientation.
